Jason’s career has taken him around the world as a solo artist and also with Sting, Jeff Beck, Peter Gabriel, Mica Paris, Joss Stone and many more artists. The Hallé and Nice Orchestras have also welcomed him to the stage.

Pedro Faria Gomes - 'Chamber Works'

The chamber works featured this evening, from the decade 2009–18, include the substantial four-movement Sonata for violin and piano and explore such themes as memory, cyclicity, returning, waiting, and the quiet spaces and distorted perspectives of night. The concert celebrates the launch on the Naxos label of a CD recording by the same performers, which includes all the works on the programme.

Mewn gwahanol ffyrdd mae’r darnau yn pwysleisio’r angen am gydymdeimlad ag eraill a phwysigrwydd osgoi lleisio barn rhy simplistig mewn perthynas â hunaniaeth pethau.

Stile Moderno–Monteverdi, Cavalli & Strozzi

Bu newidiadau aruthrol mewn cerddoriaeth grefyddol a seciwlar yn y degawdau o gwmpas 1600, gyda dinas Fenis yn ganolfan allweddol i ddatblygiad rhyfeddol mewn cynghanedd a rhythm cysylltiedig â’r seconda pratica, a adnabyddir yn well fel y stile moderno. Bydd y cyngerdd yn canolbwyntio ar weithiau’r tri prif gynhaliwr yr arddull newydd, Claudio Monteverdi, Francesco Cavalli a Barbara Strozzi, a bydd y rhaglen yn dathlu 400 mlynedd ers geni Strozzi ym 1619.

remendous changes in sacred and secular music took place in the decades either side of the year 1600, with the city of Venice being a key environment for the development of the new wondrous harmonies and vibrant rhythmic energy of the seconda pratica, better known as the stile moderno. This concert will focus on the works of three leading exponents of the new style, Claudio Monteverdi, Francesco Cavalli and Barbara Strozzi, with a programme to celebrate the 400th anniversary year of Strozzi’s birth in 1619.

Dywedodd John Adams: ‘Cyfansoddwyd Lollapalooza fel anrheg penblwydd i Simon Rattle sydd wedi bod yn gyfaill  ers llawer o flynyddoedd. Mae’r term ‘lollapalooza’ yn amwys ei ystyr a hynny efallai sy’n ei wneud yn boblogaidd fel gair Americanaidd cynrychioladol.
