British Voices II
04/03/2014, 7:00 pm

Cardiff University’s Contemporary Music Group continues its survey of contemporary British vocal music.
This concert will focus on works by living female composers. Two of the composers featured are well-known to Cardiff audiences.
Judith Weir’s music was recently described thus ‘Weir has an innate gift for line – for writing tunes, in other words – which makes her a distinctively compelling voice. Hers is addictive, scintillating music’ The Guardian.
Errollyn is described as the ‘renaissance woman of contemporary British music’ The Observer and she is as respected as a singer-songwriter of pop influenced songs as she is as a composer of contemporary new music. Communication is at the centre of both worlds: engaging the audience, speaking directly to hearts and minds.
